We are starting a new roof this week in the Near East Historical part of Columbus Ohio.  It is really nice to return a house to slate.  The original slate roof was torn off years ago.  That roof might have been repairable, another good reason to call on an expert in roofing before you tear off a slate or tile roof.  Not every roofing contractor knows slate or tile.  Most of the work I do is redoing recently done work that failed or correct newly installed roofs that were heavily shortcutted.
